i looked at ur code and saw no real problems, so i tested it and it works fine. so the problem might be either the players instance name. make sure the player movieclip has the instance name of player. check by clicking the player movieclip and in the properties menu check the instance name. u could have just spelt it incorrectly ;)

if that isnt the problem, then u musent have a 9th frame. it wont work if theres no ninth frame.

there is a nineth frame and the instance names are correct and onli one enemy seems to kill me out of the 8... and i dno why... any other ideas ? :S

ok, with the 8 enemies, how are they created? are they duplicated in actionscript? or did u make 8 urself? are they all the same symbol? if they are the same symbol, ill get u to change ur code. if they arent the same symbol make them; and then ill get u to change ur code.

each enemy is a copy of one i created so they are all duplicates, i did this with my first avoiding game and it worked but it wont work here :S
but yeah they are dulicates ^^

i just noticed the problem lol. ur nineth frame is exactly the game as the game frame. with the same symbols etc. so it wont LOOK like it changed but it has. simply edit the nineth frame to be like "game over" and u will see.
